About the client

humaniseAI’s Talent team worked with a British multinational operating across more than 45 countries in aerospace, power systems, and defence, on the Safety Management System (SMS) software used across the aviation industry. The platform served airlines, regulators, maintenance teams, flight crews, and aviation-safety analysts, but its documentation and interface hadn’t kept pace with how complex the system had become.

The challenge

The system worked, but almost nobody could learn it without help.

  • The SMS platform, built in the early 2000s, had barely changed since

  • Users faced a steep learning curve just to navigate the system

  • Moving from manual, query-based workflows to automation meant re-architecting parts of it

  • User manuals were dense enough that clients leaned on support instead of reading them

  • The interface and its underlying financial functions both needed a rework

What we did

humaniseAI’s Talent team rebuilt the documentation and the system side by side.

  • Placed a dedicated technical writer inside the system to learn it first-hand

  • Rebuilt the documentation with screenshots, flowcharts, and real use cases

  • Reworked the interface and its financial functionality alongside the documentation

  • Connected the SMS platform to the client’s own enterprise management system

  • Refined every change against direct client feedback before calling it done

Results

  1. Simplified Documentation: Rewrote 10-plus manuals of over 300 pages each into something usable

  2. Easier to Navigate: A reworked interface cut the learning curve for new users

  3. Stronger Functionality: Optimised financial features made daily use smoother

  4. Positive Client Feedback: Clients specifically praised the clearer documentation and interface

  5. Reduced Support Load: Clearer documentation meant fewer clients had to lean on support

Takeaway

humaniseAI’s Talent team turned an ageing interface and over 3,000 pages of dense manuals into a system people could actually learn on their own.
