Braeside Park
Southern Golf Club sits on a 130-acre site in Keysborough, about 35 minutes from the Melbourne CBD. The par-72 layout dates to 1949 and runs through native trees and bushland, with Braeside Park along most of its boundaries, quiet enough that you forget how close the city is.
The layout
Eighteen holes, par 72, set among mature trees and sand-belt bushland. Generous off the tee and honest around the greens, a course that rewards a good shot without punishing a loose one.
The clubhouse
Five-star hospitality with a well-stocked golf shop and a dining room that seats up to 320. Lunch is served here after play, looking back over the course.
